I'm Dave, aka Photobiff.....
Oh yeah, that's Charlie with me.
The sad news:
Charlie passed away this year 2012 on July 15th at the age of 11....far too young.
I miss him like crazy.
Along with Charlie's passing went some of my photographic motivation which I am desperately trying to get back. I miss my early morning pal. He was my reason for getting out of bed early to capture 11 years worth of sunrise pictures. We hiked through snow covered fields in temps as low as -30C.
He was a trooper and the perfect assistant. Knew just when to keep quiet.
I am a dog person and won't last long without a 4-legged companion.
I'm sure we'll have another Golden soon. I just need time.
My primary interests are in Televison & Live music productions, Sporting events, Landscapes, Interesting people, Wildlife and Nature photography with a special interest in my Grandkids and all the furballs in our family.
This has worked out well over the years as my career in Professional Audio and Broadcast Television has taken me to some pretty interesting places throughout the world. I've worked extensively in Canada, United States, England, Scotland, Wales, Egypt and most recently in Norway.
For the most part, I shoot with Canon digital and film cameras.
My main camera is a Canon 5D MKll full frame and the backup is a Fuji S200EXR.
Still in use is a Canon Elan 7E 35mm with "Eye control focus"
When I need to travel really light, I use Canon's newest little squirt......the G12.
I also have my Dad's old 1950's Rolleiflex F2.8 twin lens reflex camera.
This shoots 120 roll film and produces giant negatives. Nice to keep a historic old camera working....
These images at Smugmug represent an evolution through many years of using medium format 6x6, 35mm film, digital P&S and digital SLR's.
I have a Canon 40D SLR camera once a backup, but has recently been professionally modified for full time Infrared use by Life Pixel......see Infrared photos in my Nature gallery below.
As always, the rest of the adventure equipment includes a 2011 JEEP Wrangler 4x4 and a 2012 Golden Retriever.
Both are 100% necessary for successful outdoor photography.
Hope you enjoy these images. I live and breathe for these photo adventures and strive to get better with every roll of film, hmm, err ...............memory card. Thanks for stopping by.
